Concrete Software’s popular mobile device game continues to attract millions of users

CHICAGO (Sept. 5, 2014) – PBA Bowling Challenge Mobile Game has been named presenting sponsor of the 2014 PBA Cheetah Championship, PBA Commissioner Tom Clark announced today.

The PBA Cheetah Championship presented by PBA Bowling Challenge Mobile Game will be the first of four animal pattern championships conducted during PBA World Series of Bowling VI at South Point Bowling Center in Las Vegas. Qualifying and match play rounds will be contested on Saturday, Oct. 25, with the four-player stepladder finals to be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 1, for telecast on ESPN on Sunday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m. ET.

Since its introduction in January 2013, the “Official Mobile Game of the PBA” has surpassed 8.3 million downloads on Android mobile devices, and has added almost 2 million downloads on iOS devices since its availability for Apple products in November of 2013. Those figures from Concrete Software, the creator of the PBA Bowling Challenge, translate into 4,700 downloads per day by Android users and 2,700 daily downloads by iOS users. Another 350,000 downloads have been recorded by Amazon and Barnes & Noble device users.

PBA Bowling Challenge is a mobile game that features actual tournaments, oil patterns, bowling balls and legendary PBA bowlers who are faithfully represented throughout the game’s extensive career mode.

“The fact that an average of roughly 117,000 people play PBA Bowling Challenge every day is a testament to the game’s popularity,” said Keith Pichelman, CEO of Concrete Software. “It also is especially appealing to young people, with 40 percent of the players being between the ages of 13 and 24, and another 29 percent in the 25-34 age group. Those are exciting numbers for Concrete Software and for the sport of bowling.”

Pichelman also noted that 73 percent of the PBA Bowling Challenge players are male and 27 percent are female.

Minneapolis, MN – March 20, 2014 – Concrete Software, developers of rock solid mobile games, is pleased to announce the adoption of Tapjoy’s new nGen Platform.

Concrete Software has partnered with Tapjoy in the past, using their systems in their most popular and successful titles, but the new nGen Platform promises to increase user engagement with contextually relevant advertising, and they’ve already started seeing results.

“Freemium shouldn’t be synonymous with frustrating,” said Keith Pichelman, CEO of Concrete Software, “and repetitive or irrelevant advertising can really ruin the player experience. Tapjoy’s new nGen Platform dramatically increases the relevance of the messaging and offers our players are exposed to. Putting the right messages in front of the right people is a big win for players and developers.”

Concrete Software has integrated the new nGen Platform into both the Android and iOS versions of their popular PBA® Bowling Challenge title and has plans to take advantage of the system in many more titles moving forward.

PBA® Bowling Challenge: 2013 Year in Review

It was a year ago this month that we released PBA® Bowling Challenge. Milestones like this are a perfect opportunity to look back at the past year to celebrate successes and reflect on recent events.

Since its release last January, PBA® Bowling Challenge has been downloaded over five million times on Android. Having our game in front of that many players is exciting, but it’s also a big responsibility. Over the course of dozens of updates we’ve done our best to respond to player demand, adding a whole host of new venues and bowling balls, as well as bringing online multiplayer to the game.

We’ve also branched out to other platforms in the past year, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and most recently iOS, where we’ve been able to introduce over a million new users to our game.

We’ve also expanded our partnership with the PBA, airing televised commercials on ESPN and CBS Sports Network and sponsoring the WSOB Viper Championship last November. The PBA has been an incredible partner, encouraging and supporting us during production and since release.

But the most important thing we’ve accomplished this year is sharing our game with the people who love to play it. From the casual player who picks it up for a quick game in the dentist’s waiting room to the dedicated pro working late into the night on yet another 300 game, entertaining our players is what keeps us making great games.
